Hootsuite is a Canada-based firm. It is considered as the most widespread social media platform. Hootsuite is in fact a social media consulting and analytics firm. It is known for providing an easy to use social media platform that enables users to post and monitor content for their Twitter and other social media accounts. This “dashboard” service has gained about 10 million users and that amount includes more that 740 of the Fortune 1000 companies.

The company has recently raised an additional investment revenue of $60 million which brings its estimated value at $1 billion and total funds from investment to $250 million. The investment financing was raised from some of their existing investors such as Insight Venture Partners, Accel Partners, OMERS Venture and Silicon Valley Bank. Ryan Holmes, Hootsuite’s Chief Executive is confident that this additional financing will them to innovate their products and get a bigger grip on the global market.

New projects are certainly expected from Hootsuite in the months to come. The company has also acquired a social telephony firm, Zeetl with the aim of integrating a new voice technology to its existing platform. Zeetl basically enables companies to communicate with their consumers and to respond to them via social media. The service offers a privately shared voice channel that can be used over Twitter and Facebook.

With the newly raised funds and with this new acquisition, we can expect to hear from Hootsuite again soon with a possible launching of a new product inspired by Zeetl’s technology.
